Music and Creative Arts facility
We are delighted that the project to convert the disused building attached to Jessica’s Hall into a fantastic new Music and Creative Arts facility has now been completed. This wonderful new facility is being used by the pupils of the school and the local community and is already proving to be a terrific new asset. The rooms offer bespoke music and creative arts facilities and consist of two rooms for group and individual lessons.
A team of governors, parents and staff have been working hard behind the scenes to raise the money needed for this project and we were delighted to reach our target in the Winter of 2016. We received contributions from members of the local community, businesses and charity donations, sponsorship from the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge completed by a group of our mums, and money raised by the children themselves through the production of a CD of music. A HUGE thank you must go to all involved in this and to the small group who steered this project throughout.
A huge number of photographs of this project can be found in the Galleries section of this website. Please do take a look to see the 'behind the scenes' work that went on to bring this project to fruition.
In March 2017 the rooms were officially opened by Dominic Peckham and the children produced an afternoon of high quality music making to celebrate its opening. If you are interested in hiring this facility from the school please make contact with the school office for further details.
London to Brighton Ultra Challenge
A Thank you to everyone who sponsored the Leigh Blister Sisters on their epic 100km walk from London to Brighton. It was very tough, but they did it and were given a huge boost by the massive support they received.
