Behaviour Systems and Rewards

At Leigh Primary School we expect all our children to behave well in class, at playtimes and on school trips.  We expect all children to look smart and to wear their school uniform with pride.

 Traffic Light System

As a staff we have introduced a behaviour and rewards system that all children follow in school that is based on a traffic light system:

Each day every child will start in the green zone.

If they misbehave then they will move up to amber 1.

If they continue to misbehave they will move to amber 2, the consequence of this is the child will lose 5 house points for their team.

If they continue to behave in a way that is not expected then they will move into red 1, this will result in them losing their playtime.  When the children miss their playtime they will be standing with the teacher or midday supervisor on duty.

The next step is to move to red 2, where they will be sent to Miss Oyler.  Miss Oyler will discuss with them why they have moved up the chart and what they intend to do about their misbehaviour.  If Miss Oyler deems it necessary, she will refer to Mr Eaton.  On receiving the referral, Mr Eaton will phone you immediately and ask for you to come in and meet with him and your child to discuss the behaviour and any further actions that need to be taken.

 Rewards

Your child will also be able to be awarded house points for producing fantastic work, working hard, being polite, being kind and many other things.  On a Friday Morning the house points will be counted up and the winning team will have their house’s colours placed onto the house cup, which is kept in the entrance hall.

Your child will also have the chance to be awarded stickers in class for fantastic work, being kind and polite.
